Where do you even begin? Al I can really say is that God is showing up in some many new and exciting ways. Just when some thought that what they were doing wasn’t making any difference….God shows up…the Holy Spirit takes over and people start approaching like never before. This is only one small example of what took place yesterday at our different ministry sites.
Not only did our students work hard – but they also took the time to be sensitive to the people around them and they were willing to engage in meaningful conversations when they arose.
I am also happy to report that everyone is feeling great (we are all tired) – it appears the sickness bug has left the building!!
After we hit the showers yesterday afternoon and had supper – we made our way to Jericho beach. We arrived around 7pm – so it gave us a few hours to just hang out and spend some downtime together. We had a great time of wading in the ocean, throwing a few people into the water, throwing a football, playing frisbee and just talking about all the experiences we’ve had over the past few days.
Before we left the we had club and then broke up into our church group time. It was there that I challenged all of us to stay motivated and focused for our final day of ministry. I know for a fact that the evil one is not to happy these days and he wants to do whatever it will take to cause dissension and distraction in the lives of these students and leaders.
I also encouraged them to spend the next two days to write out their spiritual goals and dreams for the upcoming year. They need to be reminded that they will be called on to lead this year in the junior high ministry. It was so cool to see the wheels beginning to turn as they began to pray and consider what God might have them do this upcoming year.
Today they are all back at their ministry sites and their was a real sense of anticipation as they packed up their vans and headed out…so please continue to pray that God would be glorified in everything we say and do today.
Tonight we will be having our final night together at Stanley Park. The plan is to have a bbq and then to have a time of sharing about this past week. When we arrive back from Stanley Park we will finish off the night with club and a footwashing experience. I am so excited to see how God is going to move within our midst this evening…please pray that He will invade the hearts of our students who are still clinging to their own strength and power.
Tomorrow morning will be an early morning – the plan is to get up around 6:30am…clean up, say our goodbyes and then hit the road by 9:30am.
Tomorrow night we will be staying in Revelstoke where we will be having the opportunity to celebrate our past week and then discuss what the future holds for us as individuals and as a team.
I will do what I can to update you on our progress home – please keep checking in!! Thanks to all those who have commented over this past week – it has been a real encouragement to us all!!
Thanks for your prayers and support – and being partners with us as we experience God in new and exciting ways!
In His grip,
