As Mr. Cold leaves my head…the next thing to take it place are all the thoughts, concepts and ideas that I’ve been challenged with over the past few weeks….here are just a few of the things that have been running thru my head:
- Why does the media refuse to report what is going on in India and other parts of the world? With this Sunday being the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church…I am completely dumbfounded that not much is being reported on what is happening in our world when it comes to Chritians being persecuted. In my research over the past week I have found some interesting sites that do a great job of shedding some light on this situation:
2. The Power of Media and Culture in our society is intense!
Sometimes it’s as if we are zombies and we are unconsciously enslaved to what we are told is truth and reality. This was never more evident on election night a few nights back…looking in the eyes of the people who were in Grant Park during Obama’s acceptance speech….it was scary! I realize it was a historical night for North America and the world..but I’m telling you…it wigged me out.
Whatever it is that we allow into our minds and thought patterns….it has the potential to do some serious damage! Working with junior high students – they understand this – and their parents on the most part understand this as well. The question remains…if they understand this – why do they continue to choose to fill there minds with humanistic thought and selfish desires?
