So today is Thanksgiving Monday here in Canada….and here is what I am thankful for ;
The obvious 3….
- Family – immediate / extended (even the prospects of having daughter in-laws and grandchildren…seems way off but life is flying by so quickly these days…)
- Freedom – anyone who lives in North America is incredibly blessed no matter what there socio-economic status. Sure there are things that drive me nuts about our governance but compared to the majority of our world we are incredibly fortunate to live in Canada.
- Faith – with this being the overarching foundation of my existence it amazes me how often I take my faith for granted. For me my faith has become so much more than a belief system or a set of rules and standards to live by. My faith integrates everything I am thankful for… family / freedom / friends / purpose and passions…
What are you thankful for? Beyond the obvious? If we were to sit down and write down a list it may shock us how long the list would become:
Here are just a few that my family came up with…health / eyesight / hearing / taste / touch / smell / food / shelter / love / being able to walk / being able to communicate / being able to breath / being able to think / creativity / laughter / tears / emotions / compassion / hugs / having a job …..
Have you ever been thankful for your name? Your name in so many ways shapes who you have been – who you are – and who you will become. It’s just something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently…
I came across this youTube clip on FB recently….gotta love Grover – the skinny blue furry dude…who was named after me (he was created in ’72)
Today be thankful for the obvious and the not so obvious….Happy Thanksgiving!!
