For the past 5 weeks our church has gone though a series entitled PURSUIT: LIFE IN FOCUS. This past weekend we finished up with the pursuit of SIMPLICITY.
Out of all the pursuits this is by far the greatest challenge facing families today. How do we collectively pursue simplicity in our lives when all the messages we hear are to pursue everything but simplicity?
It boils down to what we value in life. Not what we perceive to value…not what we write down on a piece of paper – but what we actually live out on a daily basis.
So what are your values as a parent and as a family unit? When your child(ren) reach adulthood – what will they say about the values they grew up with? Will they take them with them as they move into a new phase of life? Or will they abandon them and create for them a new set of values that works for them in their present context?
