I spend so much of my time trying to help parents be better parents…now don’t get me wrong I LOVE IT!!
But today it’s time to look at the other side…
Maybe it’s time to raise the bar and encourage our kids to raise us? Sounds a little backwards but more and more I’m convinced our children have a lot to teach us.
I see this every week at our grade 5/6 gathering at our church. Adult leaders walk in “thinking” they are going to impart all their knowledge and wisdom to these youngsters – and wouldn’t you know it….
By the end of the hour and a half experience the leaders leave shaking their heads…blown away by the realization that they have learned more than their students have learned. Gotta love it!
What do you think? Have we lowered the bar so low that we simply don’t expect a lot from our children? What are some ways we can call out the leadership qualities within the lives of our kids?
